To demonstrate the extent to which President Clinton would have gone to pursue a world government (initially via the U.N.), I asked Jim if he recalled hearing about Army Specialist Michael New, who had refused to wear U.N. insignia over his American uniform when asked (ultimately by President Clinton) to do so as part of his assignment to Macedonia (formerly part of Yugoslavia). When Jim said he had heard about the controversy on the national news some time ago, I told him that the young soldier had captured the irony of the situation in his statement that "He (Clinton) refused to wear the U.S. military uniform (in the Vietnam War) and was elected President of the United States), but when I refused to surrender my U.S. Army uniform to wear the uniform of another government (the U.N.) he had me court-martialed."

Eager to learn more, Jim said, "OK, that's the type of thing they've been doing in foreign affairs. What about domestic affairs?" "Well," I told him, "perhaps the best description of what's been going on comes from Anatoliy Golitsyn THE PERESTROIKA DECEPTION (1995)." I informed Jim that Golitsyn was a Soviet KGB agent who defected to the U.S., and related that in Christopher Story's (editor) Foreword to Golitsyn's book, Story wrote: "Control of the Western mind is to be achieved not only by means of the dishonest use of language, but also through operations to demoralize the West---through corrosive attacks on society's institutions, the active promotion of drug abuse, and the spread of agnosticism, nihilism, permissiveness and coerced attacks on the family in order to destabilize society. Religion and the traditional culture and moral hegemony must first be destroyed, before the revolution can be successful---a message stated unequivocally by the American activist Ellen Willis, who had written that 'feminism is not just an issue or a group of issues; it is the cutting edge of a revolution in cultural and moral values....The objective of every feminist reform, from legal abortion to the E.R.A. to child-care programs, is to undermine traditional family values...' (see THE NATION, November 14, 1981)....The strategists assume that with Western society 'deconstructed,' its leaders will meekly accept and cooperate with the Soviet plan for a 'New World Social Order,' or World Government."

"In order the have a World Socialist Government," I told Jim, "each nation must first be moved toward Socialism, and to accomplish that, key areas must be 'national'-ized. That's why you hear about national service, a national police force, national education standards like under Common Core, and national health care like Obamacare." I reminded Jim that while leading conservative talk-show gurus like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck were saying President Obama would never be re-elected in 2012 because unemployment was so high, etc., I believed he would be re-elected as part of the Power Elite's secret Nazi plan because he was moving us toward Socialism as a nation (taking over Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, General Motors, etc.), and the word Nazi means National Socialism.

Jim interrupted, saying "And didn't Rhodes scholar Ira Magaziner work with Hillary Clinton both on Outcome-Based Education/School-to-Work proposals and her national health care plan?" "You're right," I replied, and further supported what Jim had just said by telling him that on C-Span, November 20, 1994, noted economist Milton Friedman, speaking on the 50th anniversary reissue of F. A. Hayek's book, THE ROAD TO SERFDOM, explained: "Bill Clinton is a Socialist, defined as somebody who believes that the way to achieve good things is to have government do it. You can't think of a more Socialist program than the health care program that he tried to get us to adopt."

"If the Clinton administration wasn't moving us toward Socialism," I asked Jim, "why do you think they made Mary Jo Bane an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services after she had earlier been quoted in an Associated Press article as remarking: "We really don't know how to raise children. If we want to talk about equality of opportunity for children, then the fact that children are raised in families means there's no equality. It's a dilemma. In order to raise children with equality, we must take them away from families and communally raise them'?"

Jim bemoaned the fact that it seemed government wanted to take over more and more of our lives, and I replied that "the takeover of American life by government" was the very subject that Theodore Forstmann wrote about in THE NEW YORK TIMES (March 27, 1994). Forstmann described the "takeover" in the following terms: "In the early 1900s, total spending at the federal, state, and local levels was 10% of the national income. By 1950, that figure had risen to 26%. Today, it stands at 43% and continues to grow....For the first time, more Americans are employed by Government---18.7 million---than by manufacturing---18.1 million....The United States, unfortunately, is moving toward democratic socialism....And the Clinton administration---which sees no task as too small, no dream too large, no issue too delicate for probing Government hands---has clearly joined the statist camp." And the current Obama administration has moved the nation even further in that direction with his many Executive Orders.
