KERRY LOST, I WAS RIGHT

By Geoff Metcalf

NewsWithViews.com

Despite the criticism, counseled caution, and disbelief of many, I consistently (since February) had been predicting a BIG Bush win.

Smarter, wiser, more connected and insightful pundits chuckled knowing, patronizing smiles and figuratively patted me on the head. But I WAS right! Story Continues Below

For good or ill I have always been disinclined to brag. However, NewsMax founder Chris Ruddy recently told me, Geoff you better brag when you can because no one else will do it for you Actually it was Peggy Noonan who inadvertently convinced me to take Ruddys advice.

She wrote (on my birthday ... thank you Peggy), Let us get our heads around the size and scope of what happened Tuesday. George W. Bush, 43rd president of the United States, became the first incumbent president to increase his majority in both the Senate and the House and to increase his own vote (by over 3.5 million) since Franklin D. Roosevelt, political genius of the 20th century, in 1936. This is huge.

This IS HUGE!

And it could have been even more huge ... were it not for the unbridled bias of the prejudiced, mainstream media.

Bush won BIG despite the best efforts and MILLIONS of dollars to defeat him.

  • George Soros checkbook
  • The 527s' finesse
  • Dan Rather and Mary Mapes
  • The New York Times and Boston Globe
  • Michael Moores cinematic propaganda
  • Hollywood linked with a gaggle of mean spirited entertainers
  • Disproportionate negative reportage of Bush
  • Excessive reportage of Kerry Despite the power, money and control, it was insufficient and the good guys won. Go figure.

Much mitigated the leftist jihad. However, even a cursory view of the Red and Blue map documents the overwhelming facts that contradict the preconceived opinion and prejudice of the elite snobs.

Throughout the campaign Kerry/Edwards repeated the big lie in the vain hope of making it reality: Bush is arrogant and out of touch with the mainstream of America.

REALITY CHECK: There is overwhelming empirical evidence to prove that notwithstanding the itching and moaning of the losers, it was and is THE LEFT which is out of touch with mainstream America."

No doubt Kerry/Edwards, and the dollops of blue on the map are offended and flummoxed by the cruel reality that it is themnot Bush, who are out of touch."

What is extraordinary is not that I was right - or that the liberal, biased media elite were wrong - but that despite the overwhelming facts in evidence, the sycophants on the left remain in epic denial.

A great deal post analysis is being written about morality and elitism and Machiavellian fire and maneuver, but the denial, frustration, and refusal to accept reality is amazing. The hypocrisy is monumental.

Reasonable people should be able to reasonably agree to disagree. However, in the adversarial environment of blood sport politics, that assumes facts not in evidence. Despite the fact that there are real smart people on both sides of the partisan divide, intelligence and time spent in academia do not seem to evidence reason.

Linda Chavez wrote, The real loser in Tuesday's election wasn't Democrat John Kerry, but the liberal media and intellectual elite who demonstrated, once again, how out-of-touch they are with the American public.

I try real hard not to allow my personal prejudices to alter my analysis (and sometimes I fail). However, my early prediction of a big Bush win was based on the same evidence the smarter, wiser, more insightful pundits had.

Despite the mainstream obfuscation here are the facts:

1. It was known that as early as February the veteran community had become energized and committed to exposing John Kerry as a bad guy.

The Swift Boat vets had NO idea the humongous impact they would have. During the DNC convention I was walking across a parking lot at Simmons College with Jerry Corsi (co-author with John ONeil of Unfit for Command) and he was practically begging for help in promoting the book).

2. I lost track of the hundreds of websites created by veterans groups to attack Kerry.

3. Kerrys brain flatulence in building his campaign on a foundation of 3 hyperbolized months 30 years ago was counterintuitive. He tried to ignore his decades in Congress.

4. The Black vote was assumed, but black families were drifting (not in big numbers but significant erosion) to the GOP.

5. The Hispanic vote was more than drifting ... they were running to the GOP.

6. Democrat operatives were not enthused over the super liberal duet they had to sell. One consultant admitted to me (Ill deny it in court) Bush bad/us goodis just not enough.

Some will argue even a broken clock is right twice a day. Be that as it may, Geoff Metcalf consistently said, Bush will win BIG since February. So THERE! Neener-neener-neener.
