MT. PELÉE 1902, TPP AND GLOBAL TYRANNY
PART 2 of 2

Even though volcanology was in its infancy, Mount Pelee gave enough warning that many of the inhabitants of St. Pierre could have been saved. Instead they were duped into staying for an election that would never be held. Today, we are witnessing the same blatant use of the media, politicians and useful idiots by the government and special interest groups to push an agenda that is utterly evil onto the nations subjected to it under the guise of “trade”.

“The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant.” - Maximilien Robespierre[32]

With secrecy almost matching the Manhattan Project of WWII over a “trade deal,” what devil can be in the details? Well, not surprisingly, Satan himself is revealed throughout the 6,000 page[33] satanic bible as there is so little media scrutiny of the Trans Pacific Partnership, which is a massive agreement setting up new rules for over 40 percent[34] of the global economy. It essentially hands U.S. sovereignty over to multinational corporations, awarding them total global monopolies over labor practices,[35] the Internet,[36] immigration,[37) drug pricing,[38] GMO food labeling,[39] and country of origin labels, environmental protection,[40] criminalization of garden seeds[41] and much more.

Ralph Nader[42] also says of the TPP: “It allows corporations to bypass our three branches of government to impose enforceable sanctions by secret tribunals. These tribunals can declare our labor, consumer and environmental protections [to be] unlawful, non-tariff barriers subject to fines for noncompliance. The TPP establishes a transnational, autocratic system of enforceable governance in defiance of our domestic laws.”

Covering every area of YOUR life, TPP, is the master stroke of bringing the Pacific Basin under the loving control of corporations like Monsanto, Nestle, Bayer, Siemens, Chiquita, Union Carbide, Bank of America and Microsoft. While it’s evil twin sister TTIP will cover the Atlantic Basin with options for the BRICs nations to join under the guidance of the WTO.

Writer Chris Hedges[42] “These three agreements solidify the creeping corporate coup d’état along with the final evisceration of national sovereignty. Citizens will be forced to give up control of their destiny and will be stripped of the ability to protect themselves from corporate predators, safeguard the ecosystem and find redress and justice in our now anemic and often dysfunctional democratic institutions. The agreements—filled with jargon, convoluted technical, trade and financial terms, legalese, fine print and obtuse phrasing—can be summed up in two words: corporate enslavement.”

Lori Wallach,[43] director of Public Citizen’s Global Trade Watch tells us “from leaks, we knew quite a bit about the agreement, but in chapter after chapter the final text is worse than we expected with the demands of the 500 official U.S. trade advisers representing corporate interests satisfied to the detriment of the public interest.”

Nick Dearden[44] of Global Justice Now declared: “on issues ranging from climate change to food safety, from open Internet to access to medicines, the TPP “is a disaster.

Another opinion of this corporate giveaway states: “Now that we’ve seen the full text, it turns out the job-killing TPP is worse than anything we could’ve imagined,” added Charles Chamberlain,[44] executive director of Democracy for America. “This agreement would push down wages, flood our nation with unsafe imported food, and raise the price of life-saving medicine, all the while trading with countries where gays and single mothers can be stoned to death.”

These treaties cover all aspects of food safety standards and regulations not only allowing for increased use of GMO’s but forcing those poisons onto every country covered under the treaties. They tie the hands of food inspectors at international borders by weakening food safety rules,[45] attacking the inspection of imported foods and curtailing any effort to strengthen food quality standards.

This means the elimination of food labels for GMO’s, pesticide poisonings and/or additives if they exceed international standards. This treaty allows for patenting animals and seeds that will eliminate YOUR ability to grow your own food without fear of being sued by Monsanto or some Multi-National corporation.

TPP and TTIP will destroy what is left of the American middle class as wages for all but the bottom and top few will be drastically reduced and many jobs will be lost due to outsourcing. Consider it NAFTA on steroids with a bit of cyanide inserted into it. The Center for Economic and Policy Research estimates the loss for America will be 25 times greater[46] than any possible gain from it.

“Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” -George Orwell[47]

With so much at stake, is it not a legitimate question to ask why there has been near silence on this subject from the people entrusted to be the watchdogs over the American republic? After all, the media is supposed to play a central role in communicating to the public what is happening in the world and how it will affect them. Yet the silence on TPP from our main stream media is deafening. Perhaps it is because Time-Warner Inc.,[48] the parent company of CNN, has at least four lobbyists working to influence the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal by peddling influence to both Congress and the U.S. Trade Representative office on the deal. Comcast, the parent company of NBC and MSNBC, has a team of at least ten lobbyists seeking to influence the TPP on “International IP Protection.” Twenty-First Century Fox, a subsidiary of News Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, has a team of three lobbyists working to influence the TPP. Disney Corp, parent company of ABC News and Fusion, is lobbying on the TPP regarding intellectual property enforcement.

Instead of informing the American public of what this trade agreement is and the areas it covers the corporate media giants that own the majority of news outlets in the US have skillfully diverted American attention away from the real issue and consumes your attention with irrelevant or far less important issues.

"A lie does not consist in the indirect position of words, but in the desire and intention, by false speaking, to deceive and injure your neighbor." - Jonathan Swift[49]

By calling TPP a “trade” agreement when only 5 of 29[50] chapters of the agreement actually cover trade the masters of Orwellian doublespeak show how willing they are to deceive the American public. The newly released document shows the extreme internet censorship plan contained within TPP. This plan will make the Internet more expensive, censored, and policed.[51] It undermines freedom and national sovereignty, and would force SOPA-like Internet censorship on the world. Remember SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) - the “copyright legislation” that the public outcry forced Congress to kill last year? Well, the same corporations behind SOPA have pushed to insert its most malevolent provisions into TPP.

Led by President Obama appointee Robert Holleyman[52] as deputy U.S. trade representative, TPP has given new life to SOPA. Few seem to remember Holleyman was chief executive of BSA/the Software Alliance, a trade organization for software companies that counts Apple, IBM, Microsoft and other top computer firms among its members. Holleyman also worked as a professional promoter of SOPA, a bill introduced in 2011 by Representative Lamar Smith (R-Texas).

Under this TPP proposal, Internet Service Providers could be required to "police"[53] user activity (i.e. police YOU), take down internet content, and cut people off from internet access for common user-generated content. This tells you that as far as the negotiators were concerned, the most important fact about the Internet is whether people watch or download movies without paying for them -- not whether one of the most important tools used worldwide today is appropriately safeguarded.

Violations could be as simple as the creation of a YouTube video with clips from other videos, even if for personal or educational purposes. In all participating nations, anyone found to have infringed copyright will have to pay civil damages… and the TPP grants courts in all those countries the rights to consider basically everything and set the bar sky-high in determining those penalties.

Also, if one country is prosecuting someone for "intellectual property theft," they can require other countries to turn over huge amounts of private data: "information regarding any person involved in any aspect of the infringement or alleged infringement, and regarding the means of production or the channels of distribution of the infringing or allegedly infringing goods or services, including the identification of third persons alleged to be involved in the production and distribution of such goods or services and of their channels of distribution."

In other words, if you're accused of downloading anime in America, the Japanese government can force your American ISP to hand over all of your parents' online records. Users could be jailed or hit with debilitating fines over file sharing, and may have their property or domains seized even without a formal complaint from the copyright holder.

“The text of the TPP’s intellectual property chapter confirms advocates warnings that this deal poses a grave threat to global freedom of expression and basic access to things like medicine and information,” said Evan Greer, campaign director of internet activist group Fight for the Future. “But the sad part is that no one should be surprised by this. It should have been obvious to anyone observing the process, where appointed government bureaucrats and monopolistic companies were given more access to the text than elected officials and journalists, that this would be the result.”

Under the terms of the text, countries in the TPP can force each other to suspend legal proceedings if the trial would cause embarrassing information -- information "detrimental to a party’s economic interests, international relations, or national defense or national security" -- would come to light. That would be the Wikileaks/Snowden clause which will create new threats for journalists and whistleblowers with its treacherously vague text on the misuse of trade secrets. This could be used to enact harsh criminal punishments against anyone who reveals or even accesses information through a "computer system" that is allegedly confidential.

Breaking digital locks (which are meant to allow companies to control their products even after they have been bought by customers) for legit purposes, such as using Linux, could subject users to mandatory fines. Blind and deaf people also would be harmed by this overreach, as digital locks can block access to audio-supported content and closed captioning.
