While our magnificent Minutemen have been pilloried and vilified by the ignorant, they are actually in compliance with the Second Amendment. Currently, they are the "unorganized" militia, but they are still doing their constitutional duty to "repel an invasion." They should be armed as part of the organized state militias under the state regardless of what miscreants like Chuckie Schumer or nitwit Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi puke out of their ignorant mouths.
On March 10, 2006, 100,000 ILLEGALS and their supporters marched through downtown Chicago protesting tighter immigration laws; I watched this in amazement on the tube. 100,000 of them. This would have been a perfect opportunity for the governor to call up the organized militia in the State of Illinois to go in and round up these criminals (illegals who break the law smuggling themselves across the border are criminals). What did local law enforcement do? They stood around and watched while tens of thousands of illegals rubbed it in our faces.
If we don't reconstitute the state militias as required by law, we the people will be left defenseless against our enemies, both foreign and domestic and the sickening numbers of illegals who are gang members, terrorists, murderers and rapists. Forget Congress and Bush, they have made their intentions crystal clear. For those who knee jerk or think this is a "radical" position to take, it's your legal obligation to be part of homeland security. It's an American issue. Make no mistake about it: our enemies, whether it's fanatical Muslims, illegals, terrorist cells or the commie Chinese, they're here. If people think the Department of Homeland Security, a worthless gang of buffoons is going to save your bacon, dream on. Ask the people of New Orleans.
Let us also NOT forget the looming banking crisis as Edwin so eloquently wrote about in one of his columns when he said:
"Also not beyond the realm of possibility would be for the Establishment to trigger (or simply do nothing to prevent) the collapse of the monetary and banking systems in a full-blown depression, coupled with acts of aggression (so-called "preemptive strikes") by the General Government's armed forces overseas that ignite a world war. Properly managed, a depression and world war would result in massive redistribution of real wealth from common Americans to the Establishment and its clients, while the victims found themselves so severely regimented by the General Government's exercise of wartime "emergency" powers that they could not effectively complain." And, in another column:
"In the final analysis, everything depends upon depriving the Establishment of its "divide-and-conquer" strategy. To prevail in the struggle for national self-preservation, common Americans must neither divide themselves nor let themselves be divided over secondary, indecisive issues. Unless Americans unite to reassert their control over the two great powers of government--the Power of the Purse (constitutional "Money") and especially the Power of the Sword ("the Militia of the several States")--they are lost, and with them this country, too, irretrievably. But if Americans can firmly grasp these powers in their own hands, all else will follow. As to these matters, then, every American should take heed of Benjamin Franklin's warning, that if we do not all hang together, we shall every one hang separately."
The biggest problem we face, once again, is lack of knowledge by those in power and the general population. Most law enforcement in this country think we need the worthless Department of Homeland Security. We absolutely do not. It needs to be abolished, which will save we the people hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars. Let me also point out that by reconstituting the organized militias of the several states, we activate tens of millions of retired military who already have that critical training. Let me make this very clear: your life and the lives of your families will depend on the state militias in the coming future, mark my words.
There is no legislation needed by the state legislatures. The law is already written. All that needs to be done is for the state legislatures to meet with their governors and attorney generals, formulate the plan and then call all the mayors and sheriffs in their state to one location for a conference where they outline an orderly program to get the job done. If they don't know how to get this organized, every state of the Union has retired military who are experienced at organizing and training troops. Veterans are politically active and it wouldn't take but a few phone calls by a sheriff, mayor, governor or member of a state legislature to call their veteran friends and get them on board. Come on, folks, this isn't that difficult.
Edwin is working to finish his new book on this issue, but in the meantime, it is the duty and responsibility for all Americans to begin the process of reconstituting the state militias for the protection and security of the several states of the Union and if necessary, in defense of the federal government - as required by the Second Amendment. But, how do we get our sheriffs, mayors, governors and state legislatures - as well as our fellow Americans - this information and educate them on this critical issue? On February 28, 2006, I went back into the recording studio and cut a special CD for my One for the Road project. This CD is exclusively on this issue because in my humble opinion, we are standing on the edge of the cliff and the 80 million gun owners in this country had better get off the dime. Cure the cancer or continue treating the symptoms. Which is it going to be? Ted Nugent, Tom Selleck and other pro-Second Amendment folks: Help us get this critical process underway by getting the word out using your fame and contacts.

After Waco, we said: No more Wacos. I say no more Angel Shamaya's. Enough is enough. The NRA is aware of Edwin's project, yet they have not come out nationally to support forcing the states to comply with the Second Amendment. Why not? Isn't the Second Amendment and what it stands for the main purpose behind these national gun organizations? More lobbying might be good for donations, but it will not fix the problem as we have seen over the past forty plus years. To continue "lobbying" for the right to own and bear arms is an exercise in futility. It's nothing more than a constant merry go round depending on which sellout is "elected" to office.
