Note to reader: Please forward to all Christian leaders that you know.

I write this letter to you as an admirer, and as one who is eternally grateful for all that you have done to fight for Christian values in America. Although fine Americans such as Don Wildmon, Dr. D. James Kennedy, Tony Perkins, Phyllis Schlafly, The Arlington Group and others have fought the fight as well, you more than anyone, are the face of the pro-family movement. You have the scars to prove it and I consider you American heros.

But Dr. Dobson, it is time to build an ark. It is time to leave the Republican Party. Jesus will not ride into town on an elephant.

I know that seems like a radical move, sir, but it has become increasingly apparent that the core values of the Republican Party are not Christian values. It is time for all Christian leaders to ask themselves if its possible for God to bless a polluted party. Make no mistake, the Republican Party is polluted.

In an attempt to build a big tent, the Republican Party has become a conglomerate of special interests. Christians are now standing shoulder-to-shoulder in a party that supports homosexual candidates, pro-abortion candidates, and those who support homosexual marriage. We are told in 2 Corinthians 6:14- Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;

The Scriptures are clear. God does not want us to be joined together with unbelievers. Most Christians may be conservatives, but all conservatives are not Christian. I know you know that. Christian conservatives are the base of the Republican Party, but the Republicans Party is not interested in promoting Christian values.

The Republican Party needs Christians more than we need them. They say politics is the art of compromise. Is that what Christ died forcompromise?

Christians, through the Republican Party, have supported the likes of Bob Ney, Mark Foley, Bob Taft, Duke Cunningham, and Arlen Specter. Would any of those men be welcome in our pulpits? Do they represent the values of Christ? Is this what a big tent gives us? Didnt Jesus say narrow is the way?

Christian voters are disgusted. Christ deserves better than the lesser of two evils. He called us to be righteous, And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Eph. 5-11. No fellowship with evil. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? How can we, in good conscience lock arms with those who do not share our values? The Log Cabin Republicans are a group of homosexuals who support the Republican Party. For Heavens sake what are we doing on the same team? Do the donations of Christians and donations of homosexuals go into the same pot? How can Christ bless that?

Others have tried to start new parties, but no one has the influence and platform that you have. Many are standing on the sidelines waiting to help. They will never return to the Republican Party. Certainly you feel the frustration, the exasperation bubbling up in America.

Lets look down the road two years. Who will the Republican Party nominate for president? Is there a God-fearing righteous man on the horizon? A man who will pledge allegiance to Jesus? A man who will boldly defend Gods positions? Or will we once again be forced to vote for a man who has a form of Godliness, but denies the power thereof 2 Timothy 3:5? Will we be asked to swallow hard and vote for pro-abort, pro-homosexual Rudy?

Now is the time to form our own party. You and your friends have the influence to do it. Remember how quickly people got behind Ross Perot? Cant our Christian leaders do the same? We have the resources and the network. It is time to stop wasting them on Republicanism.

The world has gotten smaller. The power of the Internet has changed the way Americans communicate. With one click of a mouse, millions can be alerted to Truth. A network of churches and ministries already exists. We can override the lunacy of television ads, without spending a dime, if we focus now on 2008.

Here is a plan.

  • Begin now to build the network of partnerships of those who espouse Christian values. Much of it is already in place.
  • Draft Judge Roy Moore as the 2008 presidential candidate. He has proven his mettle. Begin working for his election now. There is no question where his loyalty lies. Work to get him on the ballot in all fifty states. Stay out of the Republican primary. Build a war-chest for the general election.
  • Begin a training program for future candidates in Constitutional government as it relates to God-ordained freedoms. Train up men who will not compromise for personal gain. Courageous men who stand in the face of the anti-god establishment. Men who will restore Constitutional government. Men in the tradition of Madison and Washington. In two years we will have a group of God-fearing men to run in local races.
  • Hire experts to create PACs that will support the candidates giving opportunities for Christians to donate to Godly candidates, rather than compromised Republicans. Thumb your nose at the IRS. Would Jesus be silent on the great moral issues of the day because he was afraid of losing His tax-exempt status?
  • Give no money to Republican or Democratic candidates--only those who join the new party.
  • Offer current God-fearing officials an alternative to status quo politics, and offer an alternative party for them to join.

What will this accomplish?

  • It will honor Christ by standing boldly and uncompromising for Christian values.
  • It will permit Christians to vote their values, not compromise them.
  • It will break the Republican/Democrat monopoly.
  • It will break down long held party affiliations. Many Democrats have Christian values, but dont trust Republicans, yet they are fed up with the direction the Democratic Party is going. A house divided against itself cannot stand. If Christians unite, we can change the direction of government. The leadership of the two parties is not interested in change, only in staying in power.
  • It will unite blacks and whites in the power of biblical unitywhere there is unity God will command the blessing Ps 133. Black churches love Jesus, but they dont want to be on the Republican team. The unifying of the His people would so honor God!

Evil is flourishing in America today. Both parties policies deny the Lordship of Christ. Jesus told us that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church. Evil will prevail against Republicans and Conservatives, because there are certain battles mandated that only the Church can fight. God will not pour new wine into old wineskins. He can bless a Christian Party. The GOP is not Gods Own Party.

I live in the heartland, away from the perks and privileges of Washington. We in flyover country are sick of what is happening in America. We are disgusted with the Republicans, fed-up with broken promises, tired of holding our nose while we vote. Oh, the media will call us names, they will do everything they can to discredit what we do, and cries will arise of the danger of a theocracy. But it is time that we fought to win and not just to be liked. America hangs in the balance.

A Judge Moore candidacy will ignite Christian passion. The two parties and their imps will call him a lawbreaker, a radical, and a hatemonger, but they were never with us anyway. Isnt it time we voted for a man who truly shares our values? A man who understand that all government answers to God? They will tell us he cant win, but if we turn out the vote for him, he can and will. It is time to separate the sheep from the goats.

Things are not looking good for Republicans. It is time to abandon ship, to build an ark, to raise the standard. Republicanism is making Christianity look bad.

Dr. Dobson, America needs bold new leadership. You and your friends have the influence to pull it off. Are you and your friends willing to give up your seat at the Republican table? With leadership comes responsibility and the Lord will hold us all accountable for the compromising of His standards. The wonks will tell us a third-party cant win, that we will only divide the vote, that Hillary will be president.

I say God will do something great if we honor His name and His ways. Matthew 19:6 "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

So, Dr. Dobson, who will you choose to believe?

Sincerely,

Coach Dave Daubenmire
