DISESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION

By Coach Dave Daubenmire

“Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...”

Disestablishment--to deprive of the character of being established; cancel; abolish.

You hear a lot of talk these days about how “religious fundamentalists” are trying to “force their beliefs” on others. I have been accused of being one of the caliphs of the Christian resistance movement. Those who are on the other side love to accuse “mullahs” like me of being “intolerant, divisive, and, hateful.”

It doesn’t really bother me because I know I am on the right side of history. You see, I am not afraid of them. I don’t get up in the morning and figure out how I am going to be the most popular Christian in the universe. The Bible tells us that “the fear of man bringeth a snare” and I’ll be dog-gone if I am going to be intimidated into silence by some pencil-necked, God-hating, Harvard indoctrinated, elitist from the secular-vatican of academia.

They think they are smart…no wait…WE think they are smart…when they hold to a humanist-gospel which, in some cases, is down right stupid. It is these miss-educated, secular fundamentalists who have pushed this tripe upon the rest of us as “enlightenment.” (Let’s see, what is it that Book I spend so much time reading tells us, “If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”) They are educated idiots, using the “high priests of humanism” in black robes as a means of mandatory religious immunization for our nation.

Please understand this; they are more fervent for their faith than any “fundamentalist Christian” that I know. Atheism and humanism are religions. (Look at this chart.) In fact, the US Supreme Court ruled that they are religions. Please forget all that the secular media, secular schools, and secular courts have tried to convince you. There is no such thing as a religion-free government. The question is not if there will be an established religion in this nation, but WHAT religion will the government endorse. The secular evangelists have proselytized us into believing that only Christianity is illegal.

And now their God-hating mafia is at it again. The ACLU, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, The Southern Poverty Law Center, and the National Education Association comprise the largest religious-bullying battalion in the world. Come hell or high water they are going to do whatever they can to insure that THEIR religion of atheism/humanism is established as the official religion of America.

Religion is defined as “a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith” and humanism and atheism ultimately belief in the same god. They hate Christianity because it challenges their god, “the god of self”, and puts restrictions on the lasciviousness that they love to pursue. Remove the God of the Bible and you remove His rules. Remove God’s rules and one becomes free to live by his own. When you make your own rules abortion becomes a choice, marriage becomes meaningless, and the “god of self” no longer answers to the God of the Universe. That battle has been going on since the Garden.

A recent poll by atheistic CNN admits that 75% of Americans consider themselves Christian. They take pride in the fact that over the past 20 years of secular evangelism the number has been chiseled away from the 81% Christian recorded in 1990. Gallup says the percentage is 77 down from 91% recorded in their first poll in 1948. Let that sink in a moment. Before the secular Taliban seized control of the courts 91% of Americans considered themselves Christian !! Perhaps that explains all of the Christian graffiti found embedded on government buildings around this nation.

We need a little history lesson…not the re-written type your children are receiving in the humanistic/atheistic “public” schools. (By the way, if they were “public” wouldn’t they teach the values of the “public”?)

Until 1947 most Americans had never heard of “the separation between the church and the state” because there was none. Justice Hugo Black changed all of that with the “Everson V Board” decision that in essence re-wrote the first amendment.

In 1956 Congress, at the urging of President Eisenhower, inserted “Under God” into the Pledge, oblivious to the “establishment clause” of the 1st Amendment.

Following Justice Black’s lead the SCOTUS declared (1962) that prayer in schools was “unconstitutional” because it violated Black’s “establishment clause” reference. From the Mayflower Compact in 1620 until Engel v. Vitale in 1962 prayer was an integral part of the American public school day. Suddenly, after 342 years, it was now a “violation of the establishment clause.” (I’ve heard of violating a law…but how do you violate a clause?)

One year later, operating on Black’s forgery of the 1st Amendment, the Bible was declared “illegal” in the education of our children. Surprisingly, for generations, the New England Primer and the McGuffey Reader was the standard textbook in all of America’s classrooms. McGuffey’s Reader sold 120 million copies from 1836 to 1963 when it was declared religious propaganda in violation of the pesky “clause” that Black cited. Both schoolbooks were laced with Scriptures and teaching Biblical morality.

In 1980, (Stone V. Graham), “Black’s Babies” determined that the 10 Commandments were no longer permitted to be displayed in “public” buildings, especially our “public” schools because (I’m not making this up”) “if the posted copies of the Ten Commandments are to have any effect at all, it will be to induce the schoolchildren to read, meditate upon, perhaps to venerate and obey, the Commandments.” It was no longer legal to post in “public” buildings what ¾ of the “public” believed.

The dam had burst. The humanist/atheist assault had successfully blown a hole in America’s cultural foundation and the inmates were now running the asylum. With the “separation of church and state” as their battle cry they attacked all semblance of Christian influence in the culture. School prayer, Christmas, football prayers, public monuments, and government crosses became their targets. Still today, over 3/4 of the American “public” considers themselves Christian yet the values that they believe cannot be taught to children in the schools that they pay for.

It is time to stand up and push back. What is going on in America is not an establishment of religion…but a disestablishment of it. I like to call it government by sandblaster.

Ask yourself this question. If our fore fathers had wanted to have a separation between Christianity and the government why would they have included so many Christian symbols when they constructed the government buildings? If the courts were right in their assessment that America was a secular nation why would they be spending so much time ordering that Christian artifacts be TAKEN DOWN? In order for them to be taken down one has to assume that someone ordered them PUT UP in the first place. Were those who founded this nation ignorant of establishment clause or did they have a different understanding of America than the god-haters in authority today?

The truth is obvious for anyone willing to accept it. The Framers of the Constitution purposefully placed Christian principles at the foundation. Our government is not, and never has been, Christian, but our culture and heritage are.

Remember, the Federal government was established by the thirteen original colonies. The colonies were here first. All thirteen were established with some CHRISTIAN denominational affiliation. Look at this chart. By the year 1702 all 13 American colonies had some form of state-supported religion. This support varied from tax benefits to religious requirements for voting or serving in the legislature. (Hence, the “separation of church and STATE”… not church and Feds…and not Christianity and government.) By the way, separation of church and state appears in none of America’s founding documents…not the Constitution…not the Declaration…not the preamble.

America was established with a government founded on Christian principles. For over sixty years the enemies of God have worked to undermine His authority and establish the “god of self” as the ultimate authority in America. It is disestablishment they are after, and ultimately the enthronement of atheism/humanism as the State authorized religion in America.

Government can never be values neutral because all government is values based. The question to be answered is which values will be established. They bury our boys under a cross for a reason.

Remaking government by sandblaster is the only way they can win. WWFS? What Would the Founders Say?
