BEING ESTABLISHED IN GOD'S WORD
PART 1

We are coming to a point in time when we must be able to stand on something that will give us strength and peace. There is nothing in the world that can do that but the Word of God. There are many people who know the Word but don't really live by the Word. The time is coming when we will only have the Word of God to keep us safe and if we don't have enough faith in God's Word to overcome what we will face, we will fail.

We are assured that what we face we are able to overcome. Paul told the church in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 10:13 "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." Notice he states "will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able", this is significant because that means that whatever the trial God has already put inside us what we will need to go through that trial. Understand that God isn't sending the temptation, it is satan, but it is allowed so that we will grow in our faith. Does this mean that everybody that goes through a trial wins and overcomes? No! Only those that persist in moving forward and believing what the Word of God promises. But that doesn't mean that God didn't make a way of escape for them.

Too many in the church, pastors included, give more credence to what they see and hear than they do the Word of God. Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

(9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
(10) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
(11) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
(12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
(13) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
(14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
(15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:" Some people change their position with every doctrine they hear.

Whatever is popular at the time is what they believe even if it is completely contrary to God's Word. More Christians listen to the local news for what the future holds instead of reading God's Word to find out what God has said. If they get a bad report from the doctor, they panic. God's Word says in 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." I have seen God heal when the doctors have given no hope. I have seen when doctors can't explain why someone is sick and therefore cannot give them anything to make them better but that person continued to stand on 1 Peter 2:24 and then one day they were healed. Nothing that the doctors did but that persons belief in what God has promised brought forth the healing. Matthew 9:29 . . . "According to your faith be it unto you."

If the news says recession is coming they worry about their job and how they'll pay the bills. God's Word says: Philippians 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." I have seen in a time of severe recession where God has upheld His Word and kept believers in their home when others were losing theirs and kept people employed when others were losing their jobs and I have seen God give people favor to help them get through tough times. But all these people refused to accept anything that contradicted what God's Word promised. We, as born again believers, must get to a point that when we hear any kind of bad news the first thing we say is 'What does God's Word say?" We have all been trained to believe our five senses but we must learn to ignore them. Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." When Moses came up to the Red Sea he still had to believe that God have a way out because it was God who led them there. We are told multiple time in scripture that we are to walk by faith not by sight.

Too much of the church puts too much stock in the devils abilities. Jesus told us in Luke 9:1 "Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases." We too are His disciples so we have the same abilities but we have to exercise them. If the police don't enforce the laws there will be lawlessness. We see that concerning our immigration laws. They are not enforced by this administration so people are pouring over our southern border by the thousands daily. If we don't enforce God's Word on the devil he will continue to run over you every day. James tells us in James 4:7

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." The key to this is submitting to God. If we don't submit then there is very little chance that if you try to resist the devil that you will be successful. When we have settled in our hearts that God's Word is the final authority then when the enemy comes against us we can stand against him and force him to back down. It is acting on what we know that keeps us in victory.

Because of 'religion' we have been taught that we are just lowly sinners but we are much more than that. Romans 8:37 says that we are more than conquerors through Christ; Galatians 3:13 says we are redeemed from the curse of the law;1 John 4:17 tells us that we are free from fear and Psalms 112:6-8 tells us that we are not afraid of evil tidings because our hearts are fixed, established and trusting in the Lord. Established religion has watered down the power and authority that we are supposed to walk in to the point where most Christians have no power at all and don't believe that they even have any. Paul wrote to the church in Rome Romans 8:31 "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

(32) He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
(33) Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
(34) Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
(35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
(36) As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
(37) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
(38) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
(39) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

This is how we are to act, as champions!
