“Do all things without murmurings and disputing: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” --Philippians 2:14-15

Often I’ve referred to or alluded to George Orwell’s 1984 and similar books in my NWVs articles, my web site and my book, Legally STUPiD. But after answering maybe a thousand emails from readers who’ve misunderstood my references and allusions, I’ve figured out that most folks don’t understand my analogies because they’ve never read Orwell’s prophetic book (and very few other books, for that matter), or they don’t believe life in the Divided States of America is as bad as things in Orwell’s Oceania.

For those who’ve never read 1984, I can only say, please do. And when you’ve read it, read Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. Then read Elie Wiesel’s Night. After that, you may want to read Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins’ Left Behind. While you’re at it, find a copy of the U.S. Constitution and read it carefully, from the Preamble at least through the Bill of Rights. When you’re done, read your Bible, particularly the apocalyptic books, chapters and verses, starting with Ezekiel, Daniel and Joel then Matthew 24 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, and, of course, Revelation.

As for those of you who’ve read some or even all of the above and still believe I’m exaggerating our current state of affairs, please let me point out a few things. Many of you may have read my first NWVs article, The Seven Deadly Sins of Public Education. I know you did because several hundred of you have written me and thanked me for saying what’s wrong with “some” public schools. As I told you then, not all public schools are practicing all of the Seven Deadies, but some schools are indeed up to their eyeballs in Big Brother’s prole producing teaching strategies, and all schools are using some of these anti-learning devices. Public schools are NOT failures. They’re doing exactly what they were designed to do – dumb down the masses, so they can be more easily managed! If you have a child in a public school, please get him or her out.

Hundreds more wrote me after reading my last NWVs article, Pravda Americana. You too thanked me for saying how biased the news media “can” be. Again, you missed the point. The news media is always biased. They can’t help themselves. I remember reading an article in Reader’s Digest about 20 years ago that talked about a study of whether there was a conspiracy to slant the news with a liberal bias. They asked a bunch of journalists a series of questions regarding their views on political, social, moral and religious issues. If I remember correctly, their survey determined that nearly 90 percent of American journalists responded to these issues with a decidedly liberal viewpoint. As the article concluded, what we have is not a conspiracy to slant the news to the left but a consensus. The American news media is Big Brother’s public relations department, like Orwell’s Ministry of Truth! Please read or watch several sources before forming your own opinion about any event or issue.

Do you still think we aren’t there yet? Consider then the Patriot Act (2001), which allows the federal government to eavesdrop on phone and internet conversations, detain terrorist suspects without a charge then expand the definition of terrorist. Could that definition one day include anyone disagreeing with the actions and policies of Big Brother? Apparently, those of us who support the Constitution Party, Chuck Baldwin, Ron Paul or even Bob Barr have already been designated as “'militia' influenced terrorists.” Thoughtcrime legislation is coming. By the way, did you know about the currently empty containment camps located in remote areas on military bases around the country? Who do you suppose they’re for?

The Hate Crime Protection Act is just around the corner. What 1st Amendment rights? Once the federal government established Humanism as the preferred state religion per Supreme Court decrees in 1962 and 1963, the “free exercise” clause was sure to be trampled on next. To protect that presidentially favored group of perverts, abortionists and illegal aliens, the government now has the National Defense Authorization Act (2006) and the National Criminal Information System (NCIS) Improvement Act (2007), better known as the Veterans Disarmament Act. The federal government gave itself the authority to deploy federal troops within the U.S. in cases of national emergencies. Isn’t that the role of each sovereign state’s National Guard? Veterans who’ve been diagnosed with PTSD, depression or simply ADHD can be stripped of their 2nd Amendment right because they might be a danger to themselves or others. Why might the federal government want to disarm those Americans who’ve been trained to use firearms and military tactics?

I forgot to mention the proposals for a national identification card (or chip) and the revised Fairness Doctrine. As noted above, the liberals already control 90 percent of what’s reported (let alone what’s not reported) in the news. They don’t think a mere 90 percent is fair, so they want to control internet news sites, bloggers and conservation talk shows. Big Brother is real! And those of us who still believe in the U.S. Constitution and the Holy Bible are the last Americans!

Think about it. Do you recall the recent tragedy in an Illinois Baptist Church? Do you recall a lot of media coverage? I don’t. How about comments of outrage from the president or congress? None. Now suppose the shooter had attacked a mosque, a synagogue, or God forbid, an African-American church. Images of this real hate crime would be piped into our living rooms day and night. But these were Baptists, and Baptists tend to hold onto their Biblical beliefs and the gospel of Jesus Christ rather than the socialist gospel that preaches racial hatred and spread the wealth.

Before you think I’m going to suggest mass rebellion or a call to arms to fight Big Brother, take a look around you at what you would be doing. Like them or not, these anti-Christian socialists who now control of this country are your neighbors, members of your own family. I’m not saying this to remind you Obama’s civilian army is likely to be helping him keep an eye on you. I’m asking you to think clearly and pray harder. Yes, we should continue to speak out against what’s going on and vote for third party candidates, preferably the Constitution Party, for local, state and national offices. But our ace card has to be our faith; our Lord will deal with those who’ve betrayed us, those who’ve betrayed our Constitution and his Bible.

We should be as Paul reminded Christians back in the 1st Century – blameless and harmless – for, like them, we live in a crooked and perverse nation. Yeah, I know they’ll continue to persecute us anyway. That doesn’t mean we have to give them ammunition to use against us. In their reprobate minds, the actions of a few extreme, right wing nut cases in Oklahoma City justified their actions at Ruby Ridge and Waco. They’ll use any justification to destroy us. Pray that God himself will deal with them. Rest assured that his judgment is coming. Like the prophet Habakkuk, we should feel rottenness in our bones about the fate of our domestic enemies.

Do you see though how close we are to Orwell and Bradbury’s totalitarian states, to Wiesel’s nightmare, and, Lord willing, to leaving behind this anti-Christian generation as LaHaye and Jenkins depict for us? Still, no? Would it be easier to see it in a novel, rather than an opinion article like this? I thought so.

If I wrote such a novel, my protagonist would also work for the offending government, but he wouldn’t be a lustful, self-centered atheist like Winston Smith or a confused agnostic like Guy Montag. Like Orwell and Bradbury’s reluctant heroes, my protagonist would be an allusion of myself, fully capable of showing in a fictional setting what I’ve tried so hard to explain in my articles and book. He’d be a veteran, disabled one at that, trained and capable of much violence, but because he’s a Christian (Baptist), he’s restrained by a law most men can’t see. Sub-characters, including his wife, children, friends and co-workers would reflect similar beliefs and motivations.

Like Orwell and Bradbury’s masterpieces, my antagonists would be many, as there are many doing the work of the evil one in this country, some elected though most unelected. In an economy gone mad with double-digit unemployment and inflation, 10 years of war and an increasingly violent culture war waged against the last real Americans, where local school boards are given federal authority to approve of close Christian schools and home schools, and where fellow citizens spy on Christians in their churches to see is they dare preach what the Bible says about sodomites, my protagonist prays rather than taking action into his own hands. Though his nation is on the edge of civil war, natural disasters occur on a Biblical scale during this year (2012) the Mayans, Chinese and Nostradamus predicted to be the last year, and his own church is under the threat of having its doors nailed shut by America’s Gestapo, the out-of-control Department of Homeland Security, my protagonist holds onto his faith. Will you?

So what do you think? Would my protagonist’s nightmare simply end like Wiesel’s, or would it end with a snatching away like those who were not left behind in LaHaye and Jenkins’ novel? Or, would my protagonist figure out a way to fix all the problems destroying this country, like maybe joining a third political party that takes back control of the country from the socialists ruling over it even now? There is one way for you to find out. The Last Americans has already been written. I ask for your prayers about finding a publisher with gumption enough to print and market the most politically incorrect novel of the 21st century. Please pray for my new book. Thanks.
