DR. PAUL CHURCH CONFRONTS THE RAGING RIVER OF PERVERSE EFFLUENCE

Just four years after Dr. Paul Church started working at Beth Israel hospital in Boston my wife went into labor. We were pregnant with our third child. We were three hours drive from home working at a conference, representing the ministry that I led at the time. Paulie's unexpected labor led to a dramatic taxi ride to the closest hospital, Beth Israel. Jared was delivered prematurely after a couple attempts to slow the delivery.

Jared is now 26. He's nine years into his career as a protector of innocence.

Dr. Paul Church spent thirty years at Beth Israel working in Urology to protect innocence. He attacked the diseases and conditions that bring suffering, and perhaps premature death, by way of the urinary tract. While Jared courageously begins his career Dr. Church is bravely ending his.

The hospital fired him this year. His crime? He wouldn't go along with the hospital's "gay" agenda.

Dr. Church knew from professional experience that homosexual living compromised and attacked the God-given capacities of the body. He knew it was irresponsible for the hospital to promote such "living." Unlike many Americans who chose to ignore the health consequences of sodomy Dr. Church spoke up inside the hospital.

Brian Camenker at MassResistance tells the story:

On March 30, a major Harvard-affiliated hospital in Boston, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), expelled a well-respected urologist from its medical staff because he voiced concerns about the unhealthy nature of homosexual behavior and objected to the hospital’s aggressive promotion of “gay pride” activities.

Dr. Paul Church has been a urologist on the BIDMC staff in Boston for nearly 30 years. He is a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty. He has done research on diagnosing prostate and bladder cancer, and has been a frequent volunteer for medical mission projects in Mexico and Africa. He has also spoken before educational and civic groups on the subject of high-risk sexual behaviors.

Over a decade ago, Dr. Church became concerned about the hospital’s aggressive promotion of and involvement in LGBT activities -- including Boston’s annual “Gay Pride Week” – and its emphatic push for staff participation in them. He felt compelled to speak out.

Through emails to hospital officials and later posting on the hospital’s Intranet system, Dr. Church cited irrefutable medical evidence that high-risk sexual practices common to the LGBT community lead to (among other things) a higher incidence of HIV/AIDS, STD's, hepatitis, parasitic infections, anal cancers, and psychiatric disorders.

Promoting such behavior, he said, is contrary to the higher mission of the healthcare facility to protect the public welfare and encourage healthy lifestyles. Dr. Church also reminded the administration that its staff and employees represent a diversity of moral and religious views, and many believe that homosexuality is unnatural and immoral.

And here's the kicker:

The hospital did not at any time dispute the truth of his medical statements, nor did they address his other concerns.

They did not claim that Dr. Church ever discussed this with patients, or treated patients any differently if they were involved with these behaviors.

Instead Dr. Church was met with increasingly harsh efforts by the hospital administration to silence and censor him. They told him that his admonitions about homosexual behavior constituted “discrimination and harassment,” were “offensive to BIDMC staff,” and could not be tolerated.

Brian, in his conclusion to this story observes:

Dr. Church has essentially done what virtually no one in the pro-family establishment has been willing to do for at least a decade: unflinchingly tell the medical and moral truth about homosexual behavior. In our opinion, that failure is the main reason why we have lost so much ground in the courts, the public forum, and just about everywhere else.

This observation isn't just the opinion of MassResistance. It is the truth.

America didn't become the world's most aggressive marketing agency for sodomy because "gays" won the debate. The USA is sodomizing the world because Christians willfully decided not to live with integrity in their neighborhoods. Most Christians in America need to stop thinking of themselves as Christian.

Jesus was clear with his followers about the moral choices necessary to please him. Jesus said that he would separate the sheep from the goats at the final judgment. Those destined for eternity with him were those who gave food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, hospitality to the stranger, clothes to the needy, care to the sick and consolation to the prisoner. In this parable, recorded in the gospel of Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus claimed to actually be the suffering humanity he described. Both the sheep and the goats claimed they didn't see him there.

Dr. Church confronted the evil at its source while fulfilling the moral imperative that Jesus describes here. He cared for the sick while he proclaimed the unwanted truth to those who had the power to end his career.

This is rare courage, unfortunately.

Christians need to wake up from their Marxism-induced slumber. We must step up our commitment to confront evil. As the evidence of God's judgment mounts Christians must step from the dark corners where they are hiding. We must deepen our commitment to the fight for righteousness and truth.

The moral battle for America is raging in politics because we have allowed our government to overflow her banks. Our government (especially Federal) is supposed to be a small meandering stream in a society of moral individuals and private institutions. Instead, we have allowed our government to become a raging river of perverse effluence that is polluting the world.

And the world is waking up to just how perverted we have become.

Just as Lot offered his daughter to the violent male gang banging on his door demanding sex with angels Christian parents happily send their children off every weekday to be indoctrinated by institutions designed to destroy their child's capacity to know the truth about sexuality and gender.

The American empire is Sodom with nukes. And we are using this power to penetrate the world.

In comparison to the material prosperity of America much of the world is like the humanity Jesus so poignantly describes in his parable cited above. Many decades ago America stopped empowering her private institutions to perform acts of mercy around the world. Now we violate the sovereignty of foreign nations by establishing military bases for the purpose of preserving our own material prosperity.

American Christians will either stop finding excuses for avoiding "politics" or they may be forced to watch their children and grandchildren be literally (instead of ideologically) gang raped by the violent mob that is rising.

Michael Heath has represented Christians in the public square for nearly three decades. As executive director of the historic Christian Civic League of Maine, Heath has been an outspoken advocate for moral values. Working alongside Dr. Dobson, Heath led a statewide family policy council for sixteen years.

Heath received the Family Research Council’s Family Faith and Freedom Award in 1998. He led multiple statewide campaigns -- including a memorable People’s Veto, which sent two hundred thousand Mainers to the polls in the dead of winter, just after a devastating ice storm which crippled all of Central Maine.

Heath served on the Governor’s Gambling Task Force, as well as on a Legislative Commission on Fatherhood. Just after college, Heath spent four years leading a ministry helping people struggling with substance abuse and/or mental illness.

Heath is married to Paulie, an inspirational singer, songwriter and speaker. They have three grown sons.

In recent years the Heaths have traveled to East Africa multiple times, working alongside missionaries in Tanzania to promote solar cooking in remote villages. Mike served as State Director for the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign in Iowa in 2011.
