WHY SAN BERNARDINO?

The Obama administration and its radical leftist allies are trying to make the December 2 San Bernardino terrorist attack all about guns and calling it "workplace violence" rather than correctly call it a radical Islamist terrorist attack. Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife (Tashfeen Malik) did not stockpile guns and explosive devices, plan and train as much and as long as they did, all just in case they might get miffed at work one day. What this husband and wife did was an evil commission of murder. However, until Americans understand how we got to this point, we will never be able successfully to address the problem.

When during World War II, our OSS (forerunner of the CIA) began working with the Nazis, who were allied with the Muslim Brotherhood, we invited trouble. When Nasser came to power in Egypt in the early 1950s with the help of 100 Nazis subcontracted by the CIA, we invited trouble. When we overthrew the democratically elected leader (Mossadegh) of Iran in 1953, we invited trouble. When we supported the tyrannical Saudi Royal family and also installed the dictator Gaddafi in Libya, we invited trouble. When President Obama helped overthrow Gaddafi and allowed a major presence of Al Qaeda in Libya, we invited trouble. And while trying to take out Sunni jihadists in northwest Pakistan, when we repeatedly also bombed innocent Sunni Pakistani civilians, the Sunni Pakistani-American Syed Farook, I am sure, did not like that either.

What we fail also to appreciate is that there is no "separation of mosque and state" in Islamic countries which exercise sharia (religious) law. And when Sunni and Shiite Muslims have been at odds with each other since the time of Mohammed, our intervention on one side or the other of their conflicts makes us an enemy in their eyes.

When President George W. Bush ousted Saddam Hussein (Sunni) and brought "democracy" to Iraq, the Sunnis saw this as our helping the majority Shiites oppress them. When President Obama supported Egyptian President Sisi's putdown of the Muslim Brotherhood (Sunni), many Sunnis saw this as our supporting another military dictator oppressing them. When President Obama was eager to make a deal with the Shiite mullahs in Iran, the Sunnis also viewed that negatively. And when President Obama (and Russia's leader Putin) started bombing ISIS, the only major Sunni resistance group opposing Shiite Iranian influence in Iraq and elsewhere, many Sunnis saw this as the United States and Russia becoming their enemies.

Farook met his wife in Saudi Arabia. She was probably a Sunni who helped radicalize him and perpetrate the mass murder in San Bernardino. Remember also the woman with the Sunni mastermind of the recent Paris attacks who blew herself up with a bomb.

Over the years, I have tried to warn people (including the media/press and government) about what terrorists were going to do, but hardly anyone seemed to want to pay attention. In 2001, I explained how the terrorist attacks of 9/11 could have been easily prevented (National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice was waiting for "actionable intelligence" when she should have done preventive contingency planning, like President Obama before the San Bernardino attack saying we have no specific credible intelligence regarding an imminent attack), but hardly anyone listened.

In 2003, I related what Sunni Saddam Hussein's secret strategy would be in the Iraq war, but hardly anyone listened. In my April 15, 2013 NewsWithViews column, I identified about 5 things terrorists could do, and they did all of them within the next two weeks (see my April 29, 2013 column).

Before the recent Paris attacks, I had written that Islamic terrorists would attack at a sports stadium, and the ISIS Sunnis did that in Paris. Similarly, I said they would attack restaurants from the street, and they did. And I wrote that they probably would attack at night, and they did. Two days before the mass murder in San Bernardino, I wrote in my November 30 NewsWithViews column that Islamic terrorists would attack a facility packed with people and with little security, and the Sunni husband and wife mass murderers did exactly that. Moreover, in my February 16, 2015 NewsWithViews column titled "Conspiracy, Part 24," I predicted terrorists in the United States would use improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and in the garage of the San Bernardino terrorists, law enforcement officers found IEDs. Maybe now someone in the government or media/press will pay attention to my warnings.
