WHY DOES MAN NEED GOD ANYHOW?
Part 5 0f 5

So? Whats The Answer?

The answer is contained in the same corrective principle as was applied in the above example of the activity-oriented managers. Through group development training strategies those managers were changed into result-oriented, motivated, high achievers. As a result they turned their division of the company from the least profitable into the most profitable. It is truly wondrous and amazing to see how a person positively changes when he or she becomes result-orientated. But this involves training strategies and techniques in the secular world. And I have written a complete Leaders Guide for Leadership Through Group development explaining those skills. They are, however, adaptable to the development of groups and individuals from activity orientation based on choices fostered by their proclivities into people who are dedicated to the pursuit of results that bring joy and happiness in life instead of pain, suffering, and death to themselves and their neighbors.

But first it must be recognized that a standard exists for human behavior the departure from which results in death and destruction instead of life and spiritual development. This is the key stone on which the survival of mankind depends. The future of society, even civilization, depends upon how we behave amongst our neighbors. History has repeatedly told us that---if we are willing to listen.

What then is that standard? How should we behave to comply with that standard? What are the consequences of we depart from it. How does one determine which choices to make that will not violate that standard and result in damage to ourselves and our neighbors---death instead of life? What choices should be reinforced by approval? What choices should be rejected and discriminated against because of their destructive consequences on ourselves and our neighbors? In brief, how should we determine what results to pursue in our lives?

The standard is fundamental to mans survival. God has said if we want to achieve the ultimate result for ourselves and our neighborseternal life in an environment where there is no pain, suffering or death---we must actively choose to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength; and our neighbor as ourselves. Jesus termed this The Law and the Prophets. It is really that simple.

Above I have attempted to translate the Law and the Prophets into a modern result statement which all of us must strive to achieve. Ill repeat it here:

The society in which I live is and will remain healthy, viable, prosperous, virtuous, respectful of others welfare, moral, law abiding, peaceful, growing and self-replacing in order to survive; and, my behavior is supportive of these conditions.

This is the standard by which we should select our choices of behavior. We must analyze behavioral choices by determining and defining very specifically the probable consequences of each choice, and whether or not it will be supportive or destructive of that standard. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

The point is that Gods Commandments and the above standard are the same in purpose and intent. Our loving God wants the very best for His children; and He has given us the truth and the way to achieve the best for ourselves and our neighbors in this life. But............You cant change your behavior from activity oriented to result oriented by yourself! Even though all the proclivities listed above and their dire consequences to society are volitional and can be controllable you cant change them without help and support from God Himself. As the Bible says, good works will not get you into Heaven. One of the main reasons for this is that activity oriented people, not concerned with the consequences of their destructive choices are not able to determine good works from bad until the consequences bite them in the behind. And even then those consequences chalked up to bad luck, not bad choices. Atheists think that a good man will get to Heaven; but, the truth is, without complete trust in God, there are no good men. ......for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans, 3:23

I state unequivocally that without obeying Gods Commandments and trusting your life to Him, your proclivities will lead you to make wrong choices. And you will not consider the consequences of those choices because you feel you have a right to those choices. You will feel that licentiousness is liberty; and, your rights become more important than your neighbors welfare, and even your countrys continued existence.

There is a passage in the Bible that is most instructive: Now therefore, O sons listen to me. For blessed are they who keep my ways. Heed instruction and be wise. And do not neglect it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts. For he who finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord. But he who sins against me injures himself. All those who hate me love death. Prov. 9: 32-36

I guarantee you that if you examine any atheists behavior you will find destructive behavioral choices are present in their behavior which they think is good. For example, most atheists believe that being pro choice is good---despite the holocaust it has brought on society. Ive had an atheist tell me that there is nothing beyond this life; but he couldnt explain the historical fact of the resurrection and Ascension of Jesus. Simon Greenleaf, former head of Harvard Law School said that the evidence for that Blessed Event would stand up in any court of the land.

The bottom line is that you must learn and believe that God wants the best for you; and that you need His guidance in making choices for you life. Do the test. List what you want to get DONE with your and your familys life. Take an inventory. How have you done by yourself??? am certain that without God youve got a lot of regrets. If your inventory contains any of the following destructive activities, you havent done a very good job: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outburst of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing. As St. Paul put it in Ephesians 5: 21, I have forewarned you.......that those who practice such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Next, answer the question, What harm would be done to society if everyone obeyed the Ten Commandments? If you come up with politically correct answers such as, It would be arrogant and offensive to members of other religions, youve got a real problem. You would be admitting that youd rather satisfy man than God. And without COMPLETE UNEQUIVACLE trust in Gods Word your efforts will be futile!!

The Practical Truth

Truth is realitywhat works. The result you should strive for that encompasses truth and reality is, My choices and behavior in my life promote the glory of God. Only when you totally commit to that result will you experience the wondrous way God will work in your life. He will provide guidance and supply your needs in ways you cant now understand and believe. I can certainly witness to that. When I have needed money, resources, or help in solving complicated problems and prayed for them, the answers and resources appear when I need them. But what is so wondrous is that they appear in the form of such startling perfection that it looks as if the past had to be rearranged without disruption of history or any appearance of the supernatural. That has led me to believe that the omnipotence of God is so unlimited that He can provide the impossible for me without any need for signs and wonders It is tragic that all those activity-oriented people who choose curses will never live to experience this, or the ultimate result available to them---eternal life with Him. Choose life.Your survival, your neighbors survival, and your countrys survival are at stake.

I am a Christian who can tell you that the way you can become result oriented in God is so simple. Just ask His Son, Jesus Christ to come into your life, believe that his sacrifice and resurrection was done to save you from your own proclivities and your past destructive choices and actions, and He will take it from there. And I end with the famous verse from the Bible: 2nd Chronicles 7:14: ....and my people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

SUMMARY The natural man is afflicted with proclivities for self destruction. And most are activity-oriented rather than result-oriented, which means that that they are inclined by their proclivities to ignore or decline to consider the consequences of their choices. Their proclivities lead them to make destructive choices based on feelings rather than reason or goal seeking. They use their God-given free will to choose curses instead of life because of their disregard of consequences. And their proclivities for ignoring the obvious and justifying bad choices lead them into progressive addictions from which they cant escape by themselves. They feel freedom of choice includes the right to licentiousness. They become so inured with their destructive live styles that they insist that their neighbors approve of their behavior. They feel that man is the measure of all things, and denigrate and condemn God because He disapproves of their choices of behavior that adversely impacts man and his neighbors. Their addictive and genocidal lifestyles and beliefs cannot abide rebuke or disapproval. So they turn to the news and entertainment media and government, particularly the courts peopled by those with like proclivities clothed in authoritative black robes, to force their neighbors to accept their rights, beliefs, and destructive behavior. And so free speech and freedom of religion, the very foundational principles for the viability of this nation, are put in jeopardy.

It is fact and reality that obeying Gods Commandments will result in a viable and prosperous society. We have proved that for two hundred years. As a Christian nation we have survived and prospered. We are still viable and prospering because enough citizens believe in God, over 85%, and resist their activity-oriented proclivities in belief in a higher wisdom and authority not ordinarily exhibited by man.

But there are enough of those who do not resist their proclivities and are corrupting their neighbors into giving in to their proclivities for destruction. The behavior indices in our nation are prima fascia evidence that the survival of this society and this nation is at risk.

Please God, continue to bless this nation and help our people to turn from their wicked ways. Amen.
