DECLINE OF INDUSTRIAL CIVILIZATION

On my weekly radio show Connecting the Dots, republicbroadcasting.org, at 6:00 p.m., Mountain Time, Tuesdays and Thursday, I interview expert guests from all over the country. They bring sobering information to my national audience on the condition of America.

Dr. Brian Czech talked about steady state economics while physicist Don McKee warned of water shortages from our exploding population. Dozens more speak on our future. As I attempt each week to connect the dots, I receive emails detracting from my guests.

One writer said, Wooldridge is nothing more than a tree-hugger environmental kook! Another said, Global warming is a fairy tale. Another lady wrote, Overpopulation isnt our problem; its Chinas.

First of all, I assure every reader of my columns that I not only research and source them, Ive lived them. Ive traveled all over the planet for 30 years. Ive seen what Im talking about from the Arctic to the South Pole. My entire 36 chapter series, THE NEXT ADDED 100 MILLION AMERICANS should have frightened the pants off every reader. If youve got kids, those kids will be living in the middle of what I call a Human Katrina and they will become victims or survivors.

Adding 100 million people to this country in 30 years wont spare anyone whether they are a conservative, liberal, libertarian, independent, religious, atheist, deist or agnostic. Were all in this dilemma together.

For others, read Jared Diamonds COLLAPSE on the demise of civilizations in the past to gain perspective of what were doing to ourselves. Diamond earned a Pulitzer Prize for his book, GUNS, GERMS AND STEEL. Everything he wrote about, I saw in person. I traveled further from the Arctic to the South Pole.

As Ive recommended in my radio show, subscribe to The Social Contract Quarterly at www.thesocialcontract.com. Every quarter, youll get an eyeful of what our children face by the finest scientists and writers in the world. This months Spring 2007 issue hits home: 1 800 352 4843. Its titled: THE DECLINE OF INDUSTRIAL CIVILIZATION. Youll understand why I speak, write and travel all over the country to stop both legal and illegal immigration.

After speaking at the International Rotary Conference in Salt Lake City last week, my program received a standing ovation by attendees from many nations. Top rotary leaders from 100 countries and 50 states understand our dilemma. Go to www.rifpd.org to learn more. Again, Im doing my best to connect the dots for Americans to help them change our future from a nightmare to a continuation of the American Dream. Im also doing it for all planetary travelers. Were all in this together.

When you get your copy of the Quarterly Spring 2007 issue, read Jay Hanson, Donald Anthrop, Dr. Albert Bartlett, Dr. Richard Duncan and Edwin Rubenstein. Theyll take your breath away.

Here are three quotes that brought it home for me:

SERIOUS REALITIES WE FACE AS A CIVILIZATION

"The cheap oil age created an artificial bubble of plentitude for a period not much longer than a human lifetime....so I hazard to assert that as oil ceases to be cheap and the world reserves move toward depletion, we will indeed be left with an enormous population...that the ecology of the earth will not support. No political program of birth control will avail. The journey back toward non-oil population homeostasis will not be pretty. We will discover the hard way that population hyper growth was simply a side-effect of the oil age. It was a condition, not a problem with a solution. That is what happened and we are stuck with it." James Howard Kunstler

As we go from this happy hydrocarbon bubble we have reached now to a renewable energy resource economy, which we do this century, will the civil part of civilization survive? As we both know there is no way that alternative energy sources can supply the amount of per capita energy we enjoy now, much less for the 9 billion expected by 2050. And energy is what keeps this game going. We are involved in a Faustian bargainselling our economic souls for the luxurious life of the moment, but sooner or later the price has to be paid. Walter Youngquist

The U.S. will set a record in the rate of riseand fall of an empire. Between wide open borders and fall of the dollar and growing population against a declining resource base, the US will be defeated from within. Mobs will rule the streets in the nation that is now the third largest in the world and unable to support its population except by taking resources from other countries. Arnold Toynbee

Whats happening across America to prevent our ominous future? Mostly nothing as we play out the oil supplies! Were like an idiot with a car at the edge of the Sahara Desert who drives into it with a full tank of gas and a bottle of water. When he reaches the end of the tank and his bottle of water, he will be in the middle of nowhere with no way to save himself. He will die!

Bush and Congress pretend that ethanol, hybrid cars and conservation will solve our oil crisis and reduce usage by 20 percent by 2017. They dont tell you well add 30 million people into the USA in the next 10 years.

We paint ourselves into a terribly consequential corner. Whatever you do, join this battle to stop legal and illegal immigration. Work for a stabilized population in the United States. Work and push for leaders who will work for a replacement for oil.

Why? If we dont move toward alternative energy within a decade, our civilization will find itself living the three quotes you read above. I kid you not!
