HEMORRHAGING AMERICA: A NATION OF ADVERSE GREAT DECISSIONS
PART 2

But, what can America’s leaders and decision makers do to stop America’s cultural hemorrhaging and internal destruction? Ultimately, even though many of America’s leaders have made adverse Great Decisions for decades, there is one truly positive Great Decision that would change the lives of America’s leaders, their constituents, and the nation at large. Of course, that Great Decision would only be made when Americans turns back to God and decide to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Then, this one personal decision would be responsible for creating new laws based on a Christian perspective, that is, these laws would be based on biblical principles and the teachings of Jesus Christ. For example, there was a time when the Ten Commandments was the central focus of America’s laws. However, as America’s leaders turned their backs to the guidance of God through His Holy Word, society began to follow after the lusts of the flesh and man’s own reasoning above God’s law. Sadly, there is one prime story in the Old Testament of the Bible that mirrors the state of America’s leaders and their constituents. This story is stated vividly in Exodus 32: 1-6, which reads:

1- And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

2- And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

3- And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

4- And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

5- And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord.

6- And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

Therefore, when God’s representative Moses left the camp of the Hebrews to go to Mt. Sinai to speak with the Lord God Jehovah, the people rose up to play and to worship an image of a man-made golden calf that was symbolic of the god that brought them out of Egypt. Unfortunately, their actions were much similar to the leaders and citizens of the United States today.

Today, the United States has given up on the true and living God and its Judeo-Christian heritage and has made a new pagan god of immorality and a new religion of secular humanism. Therefore, America’s leaders no longer place God the Father at the forefront of all their decisions that affect the American people. Instead, they have replaced the Holy God of the Founding Fathers with the idol god of humanism. According to Wikipedia, “Humanism is a group of philosophies and ethical perspectives which emphasize the value and agency of human beings, individually and collectively, and generally prefers individual thought and evidence over established doctrine or faith.” Also, according to Wikipedia, “Humanism is a democratic and ethical life stance, which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. It stands for the building of a more humane society through an ethic based on human and other natural values in the spirit of reason and free inquiry through human capabilities. It is not theistic, and it does not accept supernatural views of reality.” As a result, America’s humanist leaders do have an agenda which is completely opposite of the agenda promoted by the Founding Fathers. Their agenda, which is stated in the 2003 Humanist Manifesto III, declares the following:

Knowledge of the world is derived by observation, experimentation, and rational analysis.

Humans are an integral part of nature, the result of evolutionary change, an unguided process.

Ethical values are derived from human need and interest as tested by experience.

Life’s fulfillment emerges from individual participation in the service of humane ideals.

Humans are social by nature and find meaning in relationships.

Working to benefit society maximizes individual happiness.
Respect for differing yet humane views in an open, secular, democratic, environmentally sustainable society. (Wikipedia)

Therefore, as a result of the main goals of humanism, Steven Hall of Abounding Joy.Com thought it was extremely important for Americans to know several specific examples of the humanist anti-God and anti-Christ agenda. They are as follows:

God
Humanists usually do not believe that God even exists. Humanists believe mankind is the highest entity. (“Man is the measure of all things.”)

God’s Name
Uses God’s name as a byword. God’s name means nothing to the humanist, because he does not believe God exists.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, if He existed at all, was a mere man. He may have been an interesting teacher, but when he died, he stayed dead like any other man.

Creation
Acts and talks as if evolution is a scientific fact and that anyone who disagrees is ignorant. Evolution is the only way he knows of to explain the existence of life, since he denies the existence of God.

The Bible
Considers the Bible of little interest. Believes the Bible to be the work of men (perhaps with a religious ax to grind). Certainly does not accept it as the Word of God.

Self-Esteem
Sees man as basically good. Thinks that people should feel good about themselves regardless of their behavior. Tries to deal with guilt by positive self-talk.

Sanctity of Life
Since man is a merely highly evolved animal, some human life is not so special. Supports abortion, euthanasia, and even infanticide in some cases.

Sin
Rejects the idea of a “sin nature.” Believes that whatever I want to do is ok, as long as it “doesn’t hurt anyone else.” (But is often shortsighted in deciding what may hurt someone else!) Tendency to rationalize that all behavior that I wish to do is acceptable.

Goals
Since this physical life is all there is, my goal is to get as much happiness and gain as many things as I can before time runs out and I cease to exist.

Sex
Since man is only a highly evolved animal, sexual gratification is not to be denied as long as it “doesn’t hurt anyone.” (Again, the humanist is often shortsighted about what kinds of behavior “hurt” others.)

Sexual Deviancy
Since man is merely an animal, no sexual acts should be considered improper as long as “it doesn’t hurt anyone.”

Moral Relativism
Humanists believe some things are right for some people and some situations that may be “wrong” for other people and other situations. There is no absolute right and wrong. Everything depends on the situation.

Tolerance
Believes that values, morals, and ethics are determined by each person for him or herself. Therefore, to tell someone else that their behavior is “wrong” or “sinful” is considered to be intolerant. “Intolerance” (defined this way) is not tolerated!

Family
Secular Humanists prefer to think of “family” in larger groups of perhaps unrelated people. Many secular humanists would affirm the legitimacy of same-sex marriages or civil unions. Many would deny the importance of fathers, encouraging "single parenting by choice." Many secular humanists trust schools more than parents to know what is best for children. Some humanists believe that the child’s first responsibility is to a representative of the state, not necessarily to the parents. (For example, humanists often support the right of a child to an abortion without parental consent.) (Steven Hall, “Humanism vs. Christianity Comparison,” aboundingjoy.com)

Ultimately, as can be seen in these specific examples of humanism, America is no longer the “City upon the Hill” that John Winthrop, the Puritan governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony from 1629 to 1649, had envisioned when he arrived in the New World. According to Winthrop in “A Modell of Christian Charity,” “For we must consider that we shall be a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us, so that if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword through the world.” Therefore, based the fact that most of America’s governmental leaders have rebelled against the God of the Founding Fathers, have rejected the Biblical principles that became the foundational truths of America’s Judeo-Christian society, and have made humanism their new, pagan god, John Winthrop was accurate in his assumption that the name of America would become a byword and the story of America would be one similar to all other great nations that turned their back on God, a story of death, destruction, and total disgrace.

As a result, America is drowning in its sin and has almost reached a point of no return, since punishment always follows sin. As stated in Numbers 32: 23, “But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.” Also, in Ezekiel 18:20a, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Lastly, in Galatians 6: 7-8, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Unfortunately, the ancient Hebrews found out about punishment for sin, as is described in Exodus 32: 7-14 and 19-28. It reads,

7- And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

8- They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

9- And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:

10- Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

11- And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said, Lord, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?

12- Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.

13- Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.

14- And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

19- And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

20- And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

21- And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?

22- And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.

23- For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

24- And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

25- And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)

26- Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

27- And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

28- And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

Therefore, as is indicated in these scriptures, God waxed hot in anger toward the rebellious Hebrews. In fact, He would have consumed or annihilated all of them had not Moses spoke to God on their behalf. As a result, only three thousand men were killed by the children of Levi, but someone had to pay for the sin of rebellion against the Lord God Jehovah. Of course, the same is true for today in the United States. With all the sinful decisions that are made every second of the day by many politicians and ordinary citizens throughout the United States, they should expect a reckoning day for their sins. Possibly, this is the rationale for all the cultural hemorrhaging in America today.
