O, CHRISTIANS, AWAKE!

How much longer are Christians going to make excuses for President Bush's un-Christian behavior? It really has me baffled as to why they do it. His policies have been virtually the same as Bill Clinton's, yet Bush is held up while Clinton is vilified. The most common reason I hear for supporting Bush is that he says he is a Christian. Well, let's take a look at his actions, not his words. God alone can judge his heart.

Should a Christian take an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution and then ignore it? President Bush is the all time biggest spender ever on unconstitutional social programs. Not only is socialism unconstitutional, but also unbiblical.

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. James 2:8, 9

That is socialism in a nutshell; government showing favoritism by taking money from the people who earn it and giving it to those who didn't earn it, but to whom government feels are more worthy of its use. We hear about "compassionate conservatism", but what the heck is that? It is just a cover word from "the right" for their brand of socialism. Compassion is when I freely give from what is mine; money taken from me by force to give to someone else is certainly not compassion, in fact, the biblical term is theft. Exodus 20:15 "Thou shalt not steal". Notice it does not say you shall not steal unless the government says it is okay or unless the majority votes for it. The 8th Commandment is a pretty plain and simple statement. No matter who is doing the stealing it is against God's Law!

Does President Bush have a Christian stance on homosexuality? His policy has been the same as Clinton's, although with the help of his Christian following, Bush has been able to do far more to further that agenda than Clinton ever could. Bush signed a bill giving federal death benefits for the first time ever to same sex partners and he also signed the DC appropriations bill allowing same sex benefits. When the highest office in the land gives legitimacy to this lifestyle, is it any surprise that the Supreme Court takes the next step and decides sodomy is a constitutional right?

Should a Christian pass laws to further erode parents' God-given rights to educate their own children as they see fit? Bush did just that with his unconstitutional "No Child Left Behind Bill" which mandates further government intrusion into the very institution (government schools) being used to force the homosexual agenda and other sexual perversions that they call "sex education" onto our innocent children. The Republican Party used to run on the promise of dismantling the unconstitutional Department of Education, but instead we now have a Republican president pumping billions more dollars into this ungodly system!

What's the deal with UNESCO? While President Reagan took us out of this anti-American organization because of their rotten track record, President Bush says let's get back in. UNESCO, our global school board, is a big supporter of the diabolical Earth Charter. While our children are not free to read from The Bible or to mention the name of Christ in school, they are being led to worship Mother Earth under the guise of being educated. www.getusout.org/earthworship The Earth Charter housed in an Ark of Hope will be making its way around the country. www.arkofhope.org. Why would a Christian want to involve us in such a nefarious organization?

President Bush, his father and grandfather have a family tradition of being members of Skull and Bones, an elite secret society where part of the initiation process is to lie naked in a coffin and tell about your sexual exploits. Does that sound like an organization any Christian should belong to?

Worried about terrorism, our president said we must attack Iraq. If our president is so worried about terrorism, why are our borders wide open while Americans are practically being stripsearched at airports? And besides, weren't most of those guys who hit the towers on 9/11 from Saudi Arabia? If we wanted to get the terrorists, why weren't we over there? What's really going on? Or maybe this war was about that wicked Saddam Hussein using chemical weapons against his own people. But of course let's not mention how our own government gassed women and children in Waco, Texas, using a gas that is so brutal that there is an international treaty banning its use even during wartime. And if that wasn't bad enough, the American military was illegally used against these poor innocent women and children. The Posse Comitatus Act strictly forbids the use of the American Military against its own citizens. Why is a "Christian" president and his "Christian" attorney general trying to dismantle Posse Comitatus? Are there more Wacos in the making?

President Bush's Department of Homeland Security is the biggest federal power grab since the days of Franklin D. Roosevelt. This new department is more dangerous to the liberty of the American people than any threat of terrorism could ever be. Centralizing military and law enforcement power in the executive branch is the very definition of a Police State. Why would a Christian want to create a Police State over those who have entrusted him, as the highest official in the land, to guard their liberty?

Our president says he is pro-life, but what's he done to show it? Has he even asked Congress to stop funding Planned Parenthood, the organization that is pushing condoms and abortions, not only here in the United States but all around the world? No, instead he is sending $15 billion of American taxpayer money to the United Nations for their HIV/AIDS program in Africa. Now we can push more of our great Planned Parenthood sex education programs on those poor people. You know, hand out plenty of condoms, promote abortions, the homosexual lifestyle and all those other wonderful programs that we are teaching our own kids right here in the United States. Is it any wonder the world hates us? And what's up with President Bush saying that Arnold Schwarzeneggar, a pro-abortion and pro- homosexual special rights kind of guy, would make a good governor for California?

The second reason I get from Christians for supporting President Bush is that they say that at least they are voting for the "lesser of two evils". When you look at what I have outlined above can you honestly say he is the lesser of two evils? Even if it was so, the lesser of two evils is still evil and should never be an option for a Christian.

If Christians would defend the gospel half as much as they defend the Republican Party, we might have a chance that God would come to our aid. I always hear that it's the liberals and the atheists that are destroying this country, but it's not true. What happens in this country is truly in the hands of God's people. We need to hold our representatives accountable, especially when they say they are Christians but their actions show otherwise. The Bible DEMANDS that we do so.

"What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you." 1 Corinthians 5:12, 13

We have the God of miracles on our side, but even Jesus could not perform miracles in the sight of unbelief. If we keep voting for evil instead of trusting the Lord and doing what is right, we are doomed. Do you remember why after the successful battle of Jericho the Israelites failed in their attack against Ai? There was one among them named Achan who had violated God's command. Just like Adam's sin affected all of humanity, one man's sin can punish an entire nation. Imagine how much more that punishment is deserved by us when it is a leader that we have willingly put in place and continue to support that is violating God's commands! Oh, Christians, awake! Do not be afraid, for God has put you here for such a time as this.
