Many anti-Common Core parents, teachers and others were very disturbed about this “in your face” SECRET meeting to discuss our children’s futures. What I am writing here is telling you this meeting happened in Orlando but it affects everyone who has been forced into this education indoctrination across the country.
The Council of Chief State School Officers felt the need to meet behind closed doors to discuss Common Core non- State Led Standards and ways the states can provide assistance for an education system that “supports principal leadership” throughout the country.
The introductory paragraph on the meetings page made the following statement: ‘CCSSO meetings are closed to the public and attendance is by invitation only unless otherwise denoted’.
WOW! What is it they have planned for our children that even the parents aren’t to be aware of?
Of course, the states don’t have enough knowledge to do whatever needs to be done on their own – it’s the CCSSO and National Governor’s Assoc. (NGA) along with Achieve, Carnegie Foundation and the likes of people like David Coleman who have brought our children into this mess in the first place - now maybe they are actually coming in for the kill.
Common Core is not only expected to change the way students learn, but change the way teachers teach in the classroom and the way principals lead their schools – so they say.
It was apparent from the beginning this event was going to look like a larger version of Governor Scott’s Education Summit with no parents, but flooded with superintendents, a few teachers and then add in the governors and legislators from around the country. The difference –Gov. Scott would be there.
The secrecy around discussions about our children’s futures is a big deal to parents. The governor, his staff, legislators and members of the state DOE and our congressional leaders seem to continually forget they work for us, you know, the taxpayers. Not the NGA, CCSSO, or Jeb Bush and Bill Gates Foundations or anyone else.
other thing they are forgetting – like with Obama Care. The
dislike, disapproval, whatever you want to call it crosses party and
racial lines -
from the mountains to the prairies, to the oceans - parents, educators, psychologists and others are smarter than all of you put together and we see into your plan of indoctrinating our children into mindless robots. Intruding into our private lives.
Common Core, International Baccalaureate, United Nations schools and all the other out-come based education schools in this country are not about leading our children into the 21st Century. It’s about money for the supporters and creating mindless idiots to follow them without question to take us all quietly into the NWO.
News for you all – we are NOT going to go quietly!
Arne Duncan blocked into the center of his Communist shell angered Mothers all over the country when he stated, “It's fascinating to me that some of the pushback is coming from, sort of, white suburban moms who -- all of a sudden -- their child isn't as brilliant as they thought they were and their school isn't quite as good as they thought they were, and that's pretty scary. You've bet your house and where you live and everything on, 'My child's going to be prepared.' That can be a punch in the gut."
These people have no idea how many real Americans see through them and are very, very angry.
I would like to add here a statement to Mr. Boehner – all the objections to back door secret meetings and messing with our children’s futures is not coming from JUST Tea Party groups – shows your lack of leadership not to see that!
It is very apparent the governors, and all these other organizations including Achieve, Thomas B. Fordham Foundation, Bill Gates, Exxon Mobil and many others believe they are holding the control stick on this fight.
Upon reading the “Supporting Principal Effectiveness in Leading Teacher Evaluation and Supports and Common” handout listing the two day event agenda it became very apparent it was all about everything but the children and how “rotten” the Common Core Standards are. This I suppose was covered in another closed door secret meeting.
This is not going to go away! Neither are the objectors to this insanity!
The official explanation of the event agenda was: ‘The Implementing the Common Core Standards (ICCS) and State Consortium on Educator Effectiveness (SCEE) are hosting a joint meeting titled Supporting Principal Effectiveness in Leading Teacher Evaluation and Supports and Common Core Implementation. This meeting will focus on ways that states can provide technical assistance for a coherent system that supports principal leadership.’
Sounds like “Double-speak” to this writer. I have long contended “these people” and I use the term loosely, have either drank some kind of foreign ‘sour dough mash’, are smoking ‘wacky tobacky’ or both!
For Florida (you can fit your state in here) it is very obvious they intend to go ‘forward’ with ‘no changes’ to the CCS as FL Commissioner Stewart has stated. I just wish she would be an ethical person and remove herself from the Jeb Bush Foundation or let him pay her salary since most of us feel that’s where she gets her instructions from.
My mother taught me a long time ago you can never serve 2 masters at the same time, at least not effectively or ethically. Which master are you serving Commissioner, the children of Florida or Jeb Bush? Do you have children? Have you read the Common Core Standards?
It appears Stewart has carried through with fulfilling Scott’s Executive Order regarding PARCC testing. It does however leave Florida operating within the consortium since nothing has been mentioned about Florida leaving PARCC totally. Florida has turned over its fiscal agent (money manager) responsibilities and that is all.
The next question should be is “who is going to put together our tests to replace the PARCC test this spring. Pearson? Maybe ALEC can do it! Always, always follow the money!
I find it interesting that this country has focused so much on continual ‘teach to the test’ and constant testing when a good share of the countries we are supposed to be aligning to don’t test for years at a time.
This writer believes that so much of this is centered on money – using our children as Human Capital for their profiteering game.
They continue to talk about STEM so why not schools just for STEM students and leave the rest of the kids to pre 1965 Classical education? Which by the way got us to the moon and we were at the top of the heap then and I might add without all the standardized “one size fits all” testing. Once the Federal government started making changes after the passage of the ESEA, everything was downhill from then on.
We don’t need more money for education – we need a curriculum that is good, teaches what our children need to know, standards that enrich not dumb down and is out from under the will and authority of the Federal government and the business world.
You see our country has become so focused on that college piece of paper, yet the graduates still don’t have anything in their heads because they have turned to mush. A large majority are going to college for the ‘fun’ not the education – they don’t have the basics hence the remedial classes when they enter college. The CCS are not going to change that but make it worse.
I have found over the years “hands on training and respect” get you farther and make you smarter than thousands of $$ to the college loan rackets - money again! In fact if you want to make money today start a business around education.
And Rex Tillerson (ExxonMobil) – with his threats – most parents who love their children believe he should take his ExxonMobil threats and go back to Texas and have a drink with the Bush’s who also seem to be making a good deal out of the business of the Common Core Standards.
Our state legislators need to begin thinking about our children, use their heads instead of their wallets and get our children out of bed with the Federal government for as we all know anything the Federal government touches turns to poop!
At the FL School Board meeting announcing the appointment of Pam Stewart things were not all rosy. Discord among the board members as to the implementation time frame of the CCS were very apparent. I for one don’t understand why if implemented, CCS are not being done on a gradual 1st grade in 2014, 1st grade in 2015 and so on – not plunk it down right in the middle of their education. I think it is because the “all knowing” parents are pushing back.
Outgoing board member Kathleen Shanahan blasted department leaders for not giving more clear direction on the new Common Core State Standards and delaying a decision on what exams will replace the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests. That’s what you get for going into something like this blind.
"The commissioner (Stewart) is fully in support and not wavering at all," added Chairman Gary Chartrand. "I think we move forward."
The debate led to a tense exchange between Shanahan and Chartrand, who had defended Stewart. "Do you see the timeline issue?" Shanahan asked. "We can't go back in time," Chartrand replied. "We had a commissioner change, unfortunately."
The new timeline troubled Shanahan, who pointed out that the education department would have just six months between making the decision and the start of the 2014-15 school year, when the tests would be launched.
Board member John Padget: "Those of us on the board that have had the privilege of having large private organizations realize that with a change of this magnitude, there are always hiccups." Hiccups? This gets more and more like Obama Care every day! You know, sign the bills and then read them which they all did since they agreed to the whole thing even before the Standards were written. DUH!
And of course the Madam of the Jeb Bush Foundations Patricia Levesque, who always has something to say for job justification stated, “the organization is speaking up now in part because of where the state stands in putting the standards in place”. Now? The Jeb Bush Foundations have been running all over the country pushing the CCS and the Charter school agenda and are never quiet.
“This year is when every student at every grade level is going to be exposed to Common Core,” she said. “Exposed” – do you mean like a virus?
Levesque’s words in an article she did last year for the Gainesville Sun stated, “Standards define what students are expected to know in each subject area. They must be aligned to college and workforce expectations.” Well considering how bad the Common Core Standards are that is a very scary statement and just proves the CCS, an out-come based education is in place to “dumb down” our children into non-thinking robots.
In other words, Florida’s Governor Scott, Commissioner, Legislators, State School Board and District Superintendents are dancing to the tune of Jeb Bush, Chester Finn (Fordham), George Soros, Sen. Lamar Alexander (cradle to grave control), Craig Barrett (Intel), Rex Tillerson, Achieve, (ExxonMobil), Edward Rust (State Farm), Condoleezza Rice, Carnegie Foundation, GE, and far too many to list. Oh, and let’s not forget David Coleman and Arne Duncan along with the president of the CFR Richard Haass.
Time to clean up our state – this country, by supporting officials by actions not party or being lead around by a leash.

Floridians Against Common Core Education (F.A.C.C.E.) has ask the Gov. Scott on more than one occasion to take a further step in cleaning up the CCS legislative apparatus in Tallahassee to include insisting that Pam Stewart, Mary Ellen Elia (Hillsborough Superintendent of Schools), and Fl. legislators John Thrasher, John Legg, Joe Negron, Erik Fresen, Anitere Flores, Don Gaetz, Kelli Stargel, and Will Weatherford remove themselves immediately from serving on the Jeb Bush Foundation for Excellence in Education. Never, ever a response from his office.
One last thing! For you to read and ponder The Republican Party of Florida ‘Oath of Party Loyalty and Ethical Conduct’ statement! I believe they are basically the same in all states. Do you believe our elected officials show you the same respect they do to the PARTY?
Just remember! He who pays the Piper calls the tune and with money in their pockets many are eager to sing the Common Core Song and eat the funeral meats!

Diane Kepus – Parent, Education/Human Trafficing Researcher, Speaker
My background as an Accountant /Auditor showed me my love of “digging.” In 1980 when I took up the hobby of Genealogy as the TV commercial says “I was in deep babe.”
I am married with a blended family of 8 children, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson and you can readily understand why I chose Education or the “lack thereof” and Human Trafficking as my passions for the past 4 years.
I have witnessed the decline in the scholastic achievement levels of our children brought about by the interference of the Federal DOE and individuals/businesses who choose to use our children as “human collateral” for their own financial gains. In the process they are leading them into a Communist agenda to be overseen by the United Nations.
I actually began my Education research regarding the “International Baccalaurate” (IB) program and that branched out into all aspects of foreign education of which has been allowed into our schools. Then it moved on to the push for Charter Schools with “unelected” school boards to the infiltration of the Common Core State Standards which are to be implemented into the states without proper state legislation.
The Common Cores State Standards (CCSS) are an important issue we must tackle by getting the information out to the parents so they can help stop this. This is not about making your children smarter, or worrying about whether they will actually go to college or not – this is about Total Control by others who are not their parents. The cost alone – wait until your property taxes go off the charts to pay for this. It is all about $$ and Big Business.
My goal is to reach as many people as possible to teach and inform them the truth about the Common Core State Standards and all the other evil things of which are being put on our children on a daily basis and most of it without parental permission.
