BABY-KILLERS ARE STILL WAY AHEAD, 50 MILLION TO 4

As pro-choice and pro-life leaders mourn the shooting of late-term abortionist George Tiller on May 31, I think it is fitting to remember that the pro-aborts are still ahead. Fifty million innocent children have been slaughtered since the Supreme Court ordered states to de-criminalize abortion in 1973, whereas four abortionists have been fatally shot by radical anti-choicers. The baby-killers are winning.

“Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

George Tiller was the most notorious abortionist of all abortionists. He regularly killed babies that were old enough to survive outside of the womb. Pregnant women came to him from all over the country because they were unable to find a baby-killer as sadistic as him closer to home. He was a baby-butcher of the worst kind, who murdered, baptized, and cremated his victims on site. Click HERE to be reminded what Tiller did for a living.

Incidentally, it’s not the pro-lifers arguing for slaughter. All of the justifications for abortion also apply to killing abortionists.

“We don’t really know when life begins?”

“Killing abortionists may be wrong, but the question is, who decides? - the anti-abortionist or the government?”

“Every abortionist, a wanted abortionist.”

“Keep your laws off my body.”

“What if the abortionist was conceived through rape, or wasn’t going to survive for long anyway?”

“I’m personally against the killing of abortionists, but I think that everyone should make up their own mind.”

How the meaning of the slogans change when the victim is on your side!

I believe our God was much angrier that Tiller was alive than He is that Tiller was killed. Fifty million to four, mind you. Compare the deaths of fifty million innocent babies to the deaths of four capital murderers. Jesus said that it would be better for a man that a millstone would be hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should harm one of God’s little ones (Luke 17:2). Read that again: what’s better according to our Lord? That the baby-butcher live to kill or that he be killed? It’s better that he be drowned than that he live to kill God’s little children. Jesus said he took it personally when “the least of these” were mistreated, so much so that eternal judgment may depend on how we treat “the least” (Matthew 25). Who qualifies as “the least of these”? Dr. Tiller? Or the thirty babies who would have perished today - Monday, June 1st - if Dr. Tiller would have lived to make it through one more day of work?

God obligates our government to wield the sword of vengeance and execute murderers like Dr. George Tiller (Romans 13:3-7, Genesis 9:6). God not only forbids the killing of innocent people, but he also forbids tolerating murderers: “Let there not be among you those that” murder innocent children (Deuteronomy 18:10). If the shed blood of Abel cried out to God from the ground and provoked God to judge Cain, what must the blood of fifty million innocent babies sound like in the ears of a holy God who takes their deaths as a personal insult? The blood of the unborn children cries out for justice, and according to Scripture, only the shed blood of murderers will cleanse our land of the curse of innocent bloodshed (Numbers 35:30-34; Genesis 9:6). Until there is justice for the preborn, there will be no mercy for us. One Paul Hill can never quench the wrath of God against the land where innocent blood is shed with impunity. No, he wasn’t the one obligated to do justice – would to God that he were! No, the government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” has cast its lot in with the child-killers and, barring repentance and faith in Jesus, we are doomed to terror and judgment. The thunder-clap of God’s gavel will shake the very ground, from sea to shining sea, and make our hearts melt like wax in a furnace.

Although Dr. Tiller’s repentance is much preferred to being killed by a frustrated anti-choice radical, I will try to see the glass half-full. Hundreds of Tiller’s appointments will have to be cancelled, and babies will live who were otherwise scheduled to be killed. Thousands of abortionists will go to work Monday looking over their shoulder, fearful of someone taking the initiative to act like it’s people they are killing. Maybe they will see the peaceful, pacifist pro-life activists on the street, pleading for pregnant mothers to change their minds, offering to adopt unwanted babies, begging abortionists and clinic workers to repent, and maybe, just maybe, the abortionist will tremble a little. Maybe their numbed conscience will be awakened at the troubling thought of the sting of death around the next corner at the hands of an anti-abortionist radical who’s suffered one too many injunctions. Maybe the love of money and the art of baby-killing will become a little less enticing to baby-butchers who fear for their lives.

Good. Let the baby-butchers and their accomplices fear. If they will not fear the Lord and cease from assaulting innocent children, if they will not fear the government and cease from assaulting innocent children, maybe they will fear bystanders.
