Organizational Barbecue for Walker Recall Team

Josephine County, Oregon --Many of you have been following the recall of Josephine County Commissioner Cherryl Walker wondering how you could help. I’m pleased to announce that for those of you who are ready and willing to collect signatures there is a free “kickoff” barbecue scheduled to organize and activate this most important part of the recall effort.

There is a large task before us. We must gather 6000 signatures from registered Josephine County voters by September 15th. With the involvement of all who wish to recall Ms Walker this is very achievable, but it will take a dedicated team of volunteers, willing to go the extra mile. Also those that feel they would like to be part of the recall effort by supporting in other ways such as volunteering your time or donating financially; we welcome your attendance and involvement.

The kickoff meeting is being held July 2nd, this Wednesday, at 6:00 pm at the Josephine County Fairgrounds Arts and Crafts building. All those who are ready and willing to become part of the recall “team” are welcome.

Many complain about the representation we are receiving from our state and national political leaders. We’ve become disillusioned, discouraged and concerned that our voices don’t seem to make a difference. We may not be able to make a change in Washington DC, but we don’t live in Washington, we live and work and pursue our happiness in Josephine County. I suggest we start working in a place where we can make a difference. And that place is here at home. When we choose to get involved locally, we can make a difference.

I look forward to meeting you at the barbecue on Wednesday. Your participation can become a vital part of recalling Cherryl Walker. And there is no better place to start making our government accountable than here at home. For more information, call Bill Hunker at 541-291-2859
