BEFORE YOU VOTE: FACTS ABOUT THE GRANTS PASS SAFETY LEVY
October 16, 2013
Grants Pass, Oregon: -
Less Than Half Of The $1.79 Really Goes To Public Safety
The rest is redirected to things like discretionary spending, park maintenance, administrative costs inside City Hall, depreciation and many other things that have nothing to do with our safety. The “Discretionary” spending can literally be anything City Hall can dream up—from more overpriced bus shelters to more fat car allowances for managers who never have to leave their desks....Anything!
Without The Levy, Public Safety Will Still Receive Over $15 Million Dollars From The Budget
Truth is, City Hall wants the Levy money to pad their overstuffed budgets. Among other things in the last 4 years, they used the levy money to build up $50 million dollar surpluses in City Hall bank accounts.
Voting No Will Not Remove A Single Cop Or Fireman From The Street
Voting NO will only force the City bureaucrats to sharpen their pencils, get out their calculators, and come back to the voters next May with an honest Supplemental Levy request that truthfully reflects what's really needed to keep us safe. We'll get to vote again next May. Let's all be smart...AFTER THEY TRIM IT, WE CAN PASS IT.

City Hall Never Cuts Fat Unless We Taxpayers Stop Over-feeding Them
They use scare tactics to trick us into giving them way more money than is needed to stay safe. An in-depth, accurate, honest look at the budget clearly shows what the Safety Levy money has been used for. The average Grants Pass City employee's total pay is now $116,000/yr. We need to bring them back to reality -- VOTE NO.
VOTE NO...FORCE CITY HALL TO BE HONEST
AFTER THEY CUT THE PORK.....WE CAN PASS IT.....BE SMART, VOTE NO
