McCain and Obama and the Republicans and Democrats are extremely politically vulnerable on the economy during the upcoming 2008 elections and the voters have indicated so as reported in this article Polls show voter doubts on Obama, McCain on economy:
“Barack Obama and John McCain start their showdown for the White House as a pair of vulnerable candidates, including real doubts about how each would right a struggling economy, according to exit polls of voters in this year's primaries. The crucial question: Whose weaknesses will cost him the election?”
McCain and Obama are politically vulnerable not only because they do not have adequate plans to properly deal with the national energy crisis, but, as noted in Part 1 of this article, because they have themselves been helping wage economic jihad against the US by thwarting domestic energy production. McCain and Obama want to block US drilling for oil in ANWAR. McCain and Obama are in favor of many of the adverse provisions of the costly ($8.7 trillion) Climate Change Control bill that would destroy the ability of the US to produce enough oil, natural gas and other fossil fuels (coal, tar sands, shale) to become energy independent.
The Constitution Party (CP) therefore has a tremendous opportunity to take advantage of the poor and destructive energy agendas of McCain, Obama and the Democrats that should not be trusted by the American voter. CP can make significant inroads with the voters in November by offering better programs for improving the economy by creation of higher paying jobs, stabilization of energy prices and pushing for the implementation of a comprehensive national energy production program. The CP should capitalize immediately on this situation by taking the lead with the public in offering CP solutions/programs/plans for producing more energy in the US and thereby reduce the debt, improve the balance of trade and restore and strengthen the economy. The CP should publicly unveil specific proposals and establish working groups to finalize and implement the specific details for establishment of a comprehensive national domestic energy production program.
I also believe that the CP, its leaders and candidates, should continue to press on the issue of a national energy production program with CP plans and proposals even after the election and even if the CP does not win the White House. This is particularly true and important should some CP candidates win seats in Congress. This is an issue that has the potential of making gains for CP in Congressional seats and helping the CP stop the loss of US sovereignty. CP needs to continue and maintain its efforts for years, for as long as it takes, to get a comprehensive domestic energy production program implemented by lobbying the public, corporations, the energy industry and Congress. This is an urgent issue that must be addressed with concrete programs and actions now to preserve our Constitutional Republic from the onslaught of world government efforts to destroy the US economy and sovereignty.
I am, just like the Constitution Party and its leaders should also be, very aware of the resistance that will be put up by environmentalists and by those (nations and corporations) in the global energy industry who want to protect their investments. However, CP and its leaders and Presidential and Congressional candidates can and should go directly to the American people with a comprehensive domestic energy plan to unite the public and industry in the effort and to surmount the anticipated resistance.
Now is the time to start investing the capital to build more nuclear power plants and oil, refineries, to drill for more oil and gas inside the US, to utilize enhanced, tertiary oil recovery to extract new oil from old oil wells and fields, and to build the plants for making gaseous and liquid fuels from coal, tar sands, and shale deposits. Because of the lead time required, if we delay and do not start now with an aggressive domestic energy production program, gasoline will go to $20 per gallon rather being stabilized at $5-$8 per gallon. Inflation will always increase the cost of bringing new plants and processes on line even when they are optimized to be the most efficient and their technologies have been fully developed and are robust. We need to start now before we are so economically weak that the cost for implementing these plants and processes is economically out of America’s ability to raise the capital for them without being blackmailed by Islamic and Communist nations.
The CP program must also call for increased R&D funding now to bring promising energy producing and more efficient technologies like nuclear fusion and hydrogen fuel cells on line before the time comes when America’s fossil fuel reserves are eventually depleted. In the meantime there are enough natural energy sources of uranium, oil, natural gas, coal, tar sands, and shale INSIDE the US that are recoverable at reasonable prices including with appropriate attention to environmental safeguards for adequate safe levels of emissions and effluents and for reclamation when needed.
